Overview

DigiGirls is a digital skills empowerment program championed by the CyberSafe Foundation in collaboration with UK Aid, created to bridge the gender gap in technology by equipping women and girls with in-demand digital skills. The program focuses on building a strong foundation in digital literacy, cybersecurity awareness, soft skills, and domain-specific technical training, preparing participants for careers in the digital economy. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and real-world projects, DigiGirls empowers beneficiaries to become confident, employable, and digitally skilled professionals.
As a DigiGirls beneficiary who trained as a Data Analyst, I gained both technical and professional skills. My training covered core digital and soft skills, alongside practical data analysis tools such as Excel and SQL. I applied these skills in a capstone project where I analyzed real-world datasets, wrote SQL queries to extract insights, and used Excel functions, pivot tables, and visualizations to solve business problems. This experience strengthened my analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities,and capacity to translate data into actionable insights.
DigiGirls creates pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and long-term career growth for women and girls across underserved communities. By empowering beneficiaries with relevant digital and soft skills that boost confidence, the program contributes to increased participation of women in the tech ecosystem, improved economic opportunities, and a more inclusive digital future. DigiGirls continues to produce skilled, job-ready graduates who are equipped to thrive in technology-driven roles and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

My Role & Key Contributions

Completed hands-on data analysis training in Excel and SQL through the DigiGirls program, delivered by the CyberSafe Foundation.
Analyzed real-world business datasets, applying intermediate to advanced SQL queries to extract actionable insights.
Built Excel pivot tables, charts, and visual reports to analyze revenue, profit, sales trends, and regional performance.
Solved 12+ business-driven analytical questions, simulating real world hands-on project experience
Developed soft and technical skills including problem-solving, analytical thinking, and data storytelling.
